attribute NC_GLOBAL summary String Global time series of 3-hourly, real-time peak wave direction measured by Directional Wave Spectra Drifters (DWSDs), also called dominant direction (Dd). Dd is defined as the direction of peak wave energy over the observed frequency range, typically from 0.031 to 0.5 Hz, in a 30-minute period. Dd is defined as the direction waves are coming from in degrees clock-wise from North. The DWSD drifters are undrogued. Data spans from 2015-present. This file is for Year: 2026; Month: 04. The data was funded by NOAA under the Global Drifter Program and collected and provided by the Lagrangian Drifter Laboratory at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. No quality control has been applied except to indicate missing data values. Data that was reported not on the 3-hourly timestamp have had their timestamp adjusted to 3-hrly if within an hour of the reported time.
